The Aqualizer allows the body to naturally balance itself.
DR. STEVEN OLMOS: The Aqualizer is a temporary fluid filled device that is used in between the teeth, in order to decompress the jaw joints and relax the muscles, prior to taking any kind of biregistration for evaluation or diagnosis. As you can see, it is placed on this typodont here so that as the patient puts pressure, the fluid is driven to side to side to always be able to dynamically equilibrate or level out the pressures on the jaw joint.
This is quite an advantage because, with the decompression of the jaw joint, the moving of the condyle away from the skull, relieving the pain that is initiating a lot of this contraction mechanism and the ability of it to move is a primary effectiveness of this device. With this technique, we can either be able to discern whether or not the pains that the patient and symptoms that the patient is having are coming from the jaw joint, the occlusion, and also, as a method of treatment, either temporarily or for preparatory for taking bite relationships for any other subsequent treatments.
