DR. STEVEN OLMOS: We like to cover the indications and utilization of the Aqualizer for both diagnostic and therapeutic indications. Because the head is the manifestation of injury in the body, it is very difficult to discern the origin of oral facial pain, and as a result, depending on if the clinician is of dental origin or a physician of chiropractic, osteopathic, or medicine, we need to be able to discern whether the aches and pains that we're seeing are things that can be altered dentally, or whether or not the therapy should be directed in another way.
Also, for the dentist, the chronic pains that are difficult to control as a diagnostic technique, we might have had new dental appliances placed that have produced some symptomology, and it's difficult for us to understand where is our starting point? Can we get back there? How did what we did affect the system, and if we could quiet it down are all indications that can be found using the Aqualizer.
For the chiropractic/osteopathic physicians, by decompressing the jaw, basically clearing the inflammation in that structure supporting it can give them a better idea of the efficacy of problems in the other parts of the body.
For therapy for the dentist, this is a good precursor for any bite technique that may be utilized and that's the beauty of it is that it doesn’t tie into any one technique. It's basically wiping the nociception away, relaxing the muscles, to give you a good starting point for whatever final point of restoration, or for restorative purposes, or for oral appliance therapy.
